This article is very helpful to a start up. Although we cannot cover all of reasons in marketing mistakes, here are some popular pitfalls that many start-ups meet.

Target wrong audience

Many start-ups fail to answer the question:"Who am I marketing to?" It sounds like the simple mistake to make. Show partial price

Because price is elastic element; you have to show the full price of your products or services in your marketing, not just a small element of the price. Price promotion is just one way to generate interest in your business. Don't exploit and only show unclear price for them.

Not showing a point of difference

With new business, each service or product offerings need to have something in competitive advantage to compete with others. Therefore, analyze and find out their strengths and weaknesses. Your advertising should show consumers how you will meet a need that is currently being overlooked.

Stuffing up your offers

A new business, sometimes, often try to secure a customer base by providing instant loyal rewards. It can be a good tactic, but treat carefully. You should make sure that targeted offers reach their actual target, and you must honor about it without damaging your bottom line.

Making search term errors

This reason is suitable with online business, because search term on Google is quite important. Search marketing is an increasingly important part of communications and you need to think carefully about how you are represented on Google and other search engines.

Not integrating your message with other channel

When you do marketing campaign, especially media to approach customers. All of things need to be integrated, messages in all media channel should be consistent in word, sound, color, template. These will create good appearance for your business and help customers easy remember you.

Butting into social media conversations

If you want to market yourself via social media, make sure you're being honest, genuine and conversational. The audience will respond more positively to this than being bombarded by one-sided messages.

Spamming customers

Spam customer is one way of bothering them, and it mostly reduces their business image. So, don't infiltrating online conversations with unwanted marketing, and don't send the message into unwanted customers.

Sloppy execution

Remember, your marketing is the visual representation of your business. As a start-up, market awareness of you is extremely low. The only impression people have of you is the ad that they briefly glance at.

Spend the time and money to come up with marketing campaigns that not only grab attention, but also accurately represent your business. If you are a premium, exclusive company, your marketing material should reflect this. If you have a price-based proposition, the style and tone of marketing should be entirely different. Consider using outside help to make sure your strategy and execution are consistent and of decent quality

Improving Your Productivity Using Google

This is a PC Unleashed tutorial on improving your productivity using Google. Now, Google is the place virtually everyone
turns when they want to execute a basic web search. But did you know that they also offer  built-in search tools for various specialized search goals? Let's look at a few of these. Need to know whether you'll need your umbrella today? Just type weather, along with the city name or zip code, and get instant access to your forecast. The process is very similar when looking to catch a flick at your local cineplex. Type movies and the location, and then click the link for complete listings. And this is just the beginning. For local sports scores, enter your team name [Detroit Lions]. Want to know if your wife's flight made it in on time? Just type the airline and the flight number [Delta 44]. But Google can do much more than highlight local weather and events. For example, converting units of measurement is a matter of typing in exactly what you want to know. [1 liter in cups]. It works for weight, volume, distance, you name it. Similar to this is the currency converter, [500 dollars in euro] which lets you view exchange rates for any currency pair you can think of. For general reference, you can leave bulky dictionaries and atlases on the bookshelf. Just type define and then the word [define reticent]. For instant access to a map of anywhere, simply enter its location and then type map [oakland ca map]. Looking up public information has never been easier. You can access the population or unemployment rate of a state or county merely by typing the term along with the location [population
los angeles]. If you want to see how your company's stock is doing, just enter its ticker symbol [AAPL]. Other tidbits of information are also accessible, like phone numbers, patent numbers, and tracking numbers. If you seek it, it's likely Google
can find it for you.

Some points you need to pay attention when designing website background

  • I think you know that website background need to be used as full-screen image to embellish your site so that it will look like more professional than it is. If you want to convey important point, you don't need to display a full- screen image.

  • A large image may turn off your customers as its slow loading. So, to background images, whether they are whole images or tiled patterns, tend to detract from a site's design.
  • Don't let the background image appear underneath text. It creates the uncomfortable for users.
  • Background colors are integral part of a site's color scheme and overall design small or large. You should choose your background color wisely because it conveys a lot about your site's focus, mission, and purpose
  • Following a well-defined grid from page to page and from issue to issue will make your website look more professional. A grid, or template, dictates where structural elements like page numbers go and establish rules for things like column width and image size. Moreover, it divides your pages into areas for navigation, content, and other uses, such as marketing or advertising messages, administrative notices, or e-commerce tools.

Content Network Targeting & Optimization

>>

ALICIA: Hello, everyone. And thank you for attending today's webinar "Content Targeting and Optimization." My name is Alicia and I'm an AdWords Optimization specialist here on the Automotive Team. With me today, I have a great team full of AdWords wealth. And I will let them introduce themselves real quick.

>> HOWITT: Hi, I'm Adam Howitt. I'm an auto-optimizer.
>> BELL: Hi. I'm Angela Bell. I'm also an auto-optimizer.
>> MINK: Emily Mink, auto-optimizer.
>> CHEN: And my name is Calvin Chen. I'm a content specialist for the auto-vertical.
>> ALICIA: All right. And without further ado, let us turn our focus to the presentation itself and get excited because the topic of the hour is "Concept Targeting and Optimization." So to have a quick view of the road map for the agenda today, I'll first be giving a high-level overview of the Google Content Network. Next, we'll get into the different targeting methods. From there, we'll jump into the process of creating a content campaign. Then, we'll get into more detail about display ads on the content network. From there, we'll move on to optimizing your current content campaign. And we'll finish off with some resources.
So I hope that sounds good to everyone. So let's get this rolling. Let's have a closer look at the scope of the Google Content Network and its advantages. The Google Content Network is the largest global advertising network reaching more users than any other single network or property. This vast reach comes in the form of many of thousands of unique web publishers serving content reads by over 70 percent of global Internet users. The sheer diversity of audiences available in the Web translates to an unprecedented array of topics, interests, and perspective. We've added levels here from some of the sites and the network.
And as you could see, we have large well known sites in our network such as Popular Mechanics to small-niche sites such as swapalease.com. As mentioned before, the Google Content Network has the globe's largest ad network. It allows you to connect with millions of users worldwide because we offer a wider range of targeting actions such as contextually targeting, placement targeting, targeting by demographics, interests, or geography. Understanding how your ads perform is important so you can get the best ROI. For that purpose, we offer site by site placement performance reports, conversion tracking, and Google Analytics.
In addition, our report center also allows you to measure reach and frequencies. Content targeting offers you the opportunity to connect with consumers when they're researching online and making decisions. A big advantage here is reaching users at a different stage of the buying cycle. Think about the user from a content network as lean-forwards and users from the search network as hand-raisers. Hand-raisers know what they want and are already searching for it. So on the content network, lean-forwards are not quite ready to search. They're leaning forward to gather more information. The fourth strength of our content network is a broad selection of ad performance that is available to you. In addition to the text ads that you're using in your search campaigns, we also serve standard image and Flash apps.

How to organize dynamic sales meeting

1. It's bad idea if participants come to meeting late with excuses, or they return late as coffee break. It seems to break the discipline and its agenda. So, don't wait for late arrivals and do not be late yourself.

2. Before meeting, usually start the small talk with funny smile and a dynamic greeting. Be informal and relax. Remember that sales meeting is one of few occasions where you can provide "collective motivation", so you need to be at your inspiring best.

3. With sale meeting, objectives need to be put on the first top. It's likely that you will want to discuss performance(s) since the last meeting and it is essential that you highlight success.

4. Visual aid is effective technology that you should use for sales meeting, or sale proposal. Some particular tools are using powerpoint, closely followed by the flip chart, one picture really does paint a thousand words!

5. Make quite sure that you achieve full agreement at the close of each session. You should aim to get full commitment from all present at the meeting, that they will definitely do what you have asked them to do. At the end of the meeting an action plan should be prepared and circulated to everyone present at the meeting. The previous meeting's action plan should always be progressed at the meeting.

6. If you are not expert in selling skills, you can invite one specialist from outside of the company who come together with you in the sales meeting. Beside of having presentation skills, or communication skills, you also need to have selling skills.

7. Prepare carefully for the agenda of meeting, as well as the time allocated for each session. Avoid the dreaded "Any other business" at the end of the meeting. In reality, if an item is worth discussing, it should be a full agenda item, allowing for proper preparation.

8. Encourage everyone to participate. Do not do all by yourself by asking for their views and opinions, ask for answers and listen to them; or by giving them presentation projects to prepare in advance of the meeting date. Salespeople and others hate to be lectured at.
